Frequently Asked Questions

Are walk-in appointments accepted?

Yes, if you need an immediate XRay, we accept walk-ins at our 300 Tollgate Road location. Other than instances where insurance pre-authorization is required, we are happy to accommodate your requests at any time.

What types of imaging services do you offer?
We offer mammograms, CAT scans, ultrasounds, women’s, and preventative imaging.
How do I prepare for an imaging exam?

Before an imaging exam, follow your healthcare provider’s instructions to ensure accurate results. Fasting for a specific time before the exam, not wearing jewelry, and removing metal objects from your body are common. In addition, inform your healthcare provider of any medical conditions or medications you are taking, as they may affect the imaging exam.

How long will the imaging exam take?
The length of an imaging exam can vary depending on the type of exam. X-rays can be completed quickly, usually within 30 minutes or less. Other exams may take longer for results.
Will I need to follow special instructions after the imaging exam?
After an imaging exam, your healthcare provider may provide special instructions to follow depending on the type of exam you received. For example, you may get advised to drink plenty of fluids after receiving a contrast material during a CT scan or told to avoid strenuous activity for some time. Following these instructions helps ensure a smooth recovery from your imaging exam.
What happens if the imaging results show a problem?
If the imaging exam results show a problem, your healthcare provider will discuss the findings with you and may recommend further testing or treatment. The recommended course of action will depend on the specific issue detected during the imaging exam. For example, if a suspicious mass gets detected during a mammogram, your healthcare provider may recommend a biopsy to test for cancer. Proactive imaging exams can help with early detection, prompt treatment, and better outcomes. It’s important to discuss any concerns or questions you have about your imaging results with your healthcare provider to ensure that you receive the best possible care.
Is the imaging equipment safe?
Imaging equipment is safe when operated by trained professionals and used as intended. This equipment emits low radiation levels or uses non-ionizing radiation such as ultrasound or magnetic fields to create images of the body. Therefore, the amount of radiation exposure during imaging exams is usually considered safe for most patients, and the benefits of the exam typically outweigh the risks. However, it’s essential to inform your healthcare provider of any prior radiation exposure or pregnancy, as these factors may affect the safety of the imaging exam.

Today, I felt the u/s tech, Alisa, has been the most thorough and professional tech I have encountered. The mammography tech, Terri, made me feel comfortable and is so friendly.
